| Description: | The Multicampi University project is about the interiorization process of Learning of the Federal University of Pará, initiated in the 1980’s, during the dean José Seixas Lourenço’s administration (1985 – 1989). In the initial stage, the priority was given to the bachelor degree courses in Languages, Mathematics, History, Geography and Pedagogy. The project, besides qualifying outsider teachers, gave work opportunity for those who already had a major. The courses had interval format and gave the towns of Abaetetuba, Altamira, Castanhal, Marabá, Santarém e Soure, which were selected according to the economic development research made by the State, access to the higher education. At first, the process was independent, only receiving support from the Ministry of Education (MEC) years later after its implementation, in the 1990’s, and amplifying its action field in the 2000’s.
In this content there is the interview given by the Professor Vera Lúcia Jacob Chaves, who is Productivity CNPq Grant Holder level 2 and Associated Professor I of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA). She has degree in Social Sciences by the UFPA (1977), degree in Pedagogy by the UFPA (1989), Master’s degree in Education and Public Policies by the UFPA (1996) too; she is PhD in Education: Knowledge and Social Inclusion by the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2005); she has Post-doctorate in Education by the University of Lisbon (2011) and Post-Doctorate in Public Policies and Human Formation by the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro - UERJ (2011). The professor also teaches at the Pedagogy and Social Sciences and at the Program of Post-Graduation in Education of the UFPA.
In this interview, the professor talks about her basic education and her entrance into the Social Sciences course of the UFPA, in 1974. She mentions the course formatting in the context of the Military Dictatorship and her political militancy in this period, inclusive for the creation of the bachelor’s course in Social Sciences. She also highlights that, in 1989, she entered the Pedagogic Integrated Nucleus (NPI) and there she participated of the implementation of the Philosophy and Sociology courses. In 1993, she entered as a professor of the Centre of Education of the UFPA. She talks about her participation as a professor of the Interiorization; about the President's Support Program for the Restructuring and Expansion of Federal Universities (REUNI) and about the National Plan of Qualification of Basic Education Professors (PARFOR). |
