| Description: | The Multicampi University project is about the interiorization process of Learning of the Federal University of Pará, initiated in the 1980’s, during the dean José Seixas Lourenço’s administration (1985 – 1989). In the initial stage, the priority was given to the bachelor degree courses in Languages, Mathematics, History, Geography and Pedagogy. The project, besides qualifying outsider teachers, gave work opportunity for those who already had a major. The courses had interval format and gave the towns of Abaetetuba, Altamira, Castanhal, Marabá, Santarém e Soure, which were selected according to the economic development research made by the State, access to the higher education. At first, the process was independent, only receiving support from the Ministry of Education (MEC) years later after its implementation, in the 1990’s, and amplifying its action field in the 2000’s.
In this content there is the interview given by the Professor Eliomar Azevedo do Carmo, who is a professor and coordinator of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), in Abaetetuba campus. The professor has a degree in Electric Engineering (2006) by the UFPA and Full Degree in Mathematics (2006) by the State University of Pará (UEPA). He has a master’s degree and he is PhD in Electric Engineering (2008), both by the UFPA. In this interview, the professor tells his familiar history, since his hometown, in Maranhão, until he arrives in Belém. Besides explaining his academic trajectory, the professor highlights that he entered the university, through a public competition for professor, in the year of 2008, being located in Abaetetuba campus.
He also does an evaluation about the President's Support Program for the Restructuring and Expansion of Federal Universities (REUNI) and stresses that this program helped to increase the qualified professors’ team in Abaetetuba campus, therefore, he also does an evaluation about the campus and highlights that the policy continues in the extension, teaching and research tripod. The professor also affirms that he didn’t experience the Interiorization, but he tells that he watched this process in the university through his friends; this way he does a parallel reflection of this project with the National Plan of Qualification of Basic Education Professors (PARFOR). |
