| Description: | This content, which is part of the multimedia material of the book Borderless Education in the Amazon: trajectory and perspectives of the UFPA distance learning, brings the report given by of professor Cristina Vaz, who talks about the implantation process of the Mathematics major degree course in the distance learning way at the Federal University of Pará, which had the initial support from the city halls all over the state. She still underlines the importance of the distance learning to attend the training of outsider teachers. She also talks about that, among the initial difficulties, there was the comprehension of how this learning method worked. She also emphasizes the occurrence of initial resistances to the process and how the presencial and the distance learning courses have equivalence. She points out the benefits for the student in this learning method and the proud to see some distance learning students being approved in official examination. |
