| Description: | The serial of videos “Fundamental Concepts of Thermodynamics” presents, along three episodes, the fundamental concepts for the comprehension and study of Thermodynamics, among them the concepts of Energy, Work, Heat, and the definition of the first Law of Thermodynamics. The videos are constituted by the presentation of an expert professor who, from animations in 2D and 3D, stimulates the visualization and comprehension of the concepts by the students. In the first episode, the professor Waldinei Monteiro, who presents the three videos of the serial, explains the concepts of system, frontier and neighborhood and he considers state change, which can be adiabatic, isobaric, isothermal and isovolumetric. In the episode 02, the concepts of Heat, Work and Energy are presented, and they are fundamental elements for the comprehension of the first Law of Thermodynamics. In the second episode, the professor also defines specific heat, explains the types of work, comprehension and expansion, and carries out, from animations, the solution of exercises involving the formulas of heat and work. In the third and last episode of the serial, the professor deepens the concept of Energy and presents how this is related to Heat and Work through an expression which represents the first Law of Thermodynamics. |
