| Description: | The Multicampi University project is about the interiorization process of Learning of the Federal University of Pará, initiated in the 1980’s, during the dean José Seixas Lourenço’s administration (1985 – 1989). In the initial stage, the priority was given to the bachelor degree courses in Languages, Mathematics, History, Geography and Pedagogy. The project, besides qualifying outsider teachers, gave work opportunity for those who already had a major. The courses had interval format and gave the towns of Abaetetuba, Altamira, Castanhal, Marabá, Santarém e Soure, which were selected according to the economic development research made by the State, access to the higher education. At first, the process was independent, only receiving support from the Ministry of Education (MEC) years later after its implementation, in the 1990’s, and amplifying its action field in the 2000’s.
In this content there is the interview given by the Professor Maria de Oliveira Ricci, who has been a professor of the History College of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) since 1995 and she was one of the founders of the Program of Post-Graduation in Social History of the Amazon, where she has been acting since 2004. She has a degree and post-graduation in History by the State University of Campinas, master’s degree (1993) and she is PhD (1998) in the Social History field, with emphasis in biography analysis and studies about social movements such as the Independence and the regency period.
In this interview, the professor talks about her childhood in the interior of São Paulo, where she was born, and her contacts with the Amazon, mainly in Manaus (AM). She tells how she met the professors from Pará during her doctorate at the UNICAMP and her interest in coming to Pará. In 1995, she entered as a visitor professor of the UFPA, doing a competition in the next year for permanent professor. She also reminds the situation of the Department of History and her experience as a professor of the Interiorization. She evaluates the Interiorization, its context and structure, distinguishing it of the National Plan of Qualification of Basic Education Professors (PARFOR), because there was a loss in the PARFOR concerning the autonomy of the colleges. |
