| Description: | The 3rd 1964 Seminar: 51 Years Later was held on April 1, 2015, promoted by the "César Leite" in Memory and Truth Commission of the Federal University of Pará - UFPA. The program of the seminar counted with the Solemn Session of CONSUN: "The act of public reparation" in which the UFPA formally apologized to those who, corroborated by documentary evidence, have had their human rights violated within the institution during the military dictatorship. The "César Leite" in Memory and Truth Commission of the UFPA had its creation approved on 20 September 2013, through Resolution No.721/2013, by the Superior Council of the Federal University of Pará (CONSUN / UFPA). Its objective is to recover the memory and history of the acts of human rights violation during the period of the military dictatorship within the Federal University of Pará, as in the case of students and teachers who have suffered persecution, were arrested, tortured or retired compulsorily. The Commission's name is a tribute to the student César Moraes Leite, who was killed in 1980 by a federal agent inside the Fb-2 room, in a pavilion of the Basic University campus.
This content refers to the opening session of the event, chaired by the President of the “César Leite” in Memory and Truth Commission of the UFPA, Prof. Dr. Edilza Joana Oliveira Fontes, and consists of the participants Carlos Bordalo, state representative and president of the Human Rights Commission of the Legislative Assembly of Pará; Paulo Fonteles Filho, representative of the State Commission of Truth and Memory; Jerônimo Treccani, representative of the State Farmers' Commission; Ângela Azevedo, representative of the Union of Workers of Federal Institutions of Higher Education in the State of Pará - Sindtifes; Sidney Barros Miranda, president of Post-Graduates Association - APG UFPA and Mônica Grin, Graduate Program coordinator in Social History of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ (PPGHIS / UFRJ). After the opening, Professor Mônica Grin gave a lecture on "Transitional justice experiences and the right to resentment: Holocaust Victims and Apartheid Victims ", launching an academic look at the role of resentment in research in history. |
