| Description: | This content, which is part of the multimedia material of the book Borderless Education in the Amazon: trajectory and perspectives of the UFPA distance learning, brings the report given by the professor Marcos Ximenes, who presents the stages of the implantation trajectory of the distance learning at the Federal University of Pará. He underlines the importance of partnerships with other foreign universities and the contribution made by the government institutions of Pará state. Among the difficulties, he points out the necessity to break with the prejudice against distance learning and the infrastructure problems. He still says that the student mobilization process is bigger in the distance learning. He also underlines the contribution made by the UFPA to amplify the access to higher education through the interiorization. He emphasizes how important the implantation of this learning method was to the training of teachers. |
